The Veg Patch

Last weekend I had a moment of gardening triumph as I FINALLY got the garlic in! Looking back over last summer I feel that the plot didn't work as hard as it had the previous year, so this year must be better. I would like to try and get some Broad Beans in before I go away on Sunday and also mulch the borders with manure - but perhaps I am being unrealisitic? I discovered from Dot why the soil in ourt garden is so rubbish when hers is so rich - apparently the tenant who lived here before the people we bought from had a radical approach to weeding, he scraped off the topsoil with a digger!!
